SABMiller to buy Vladpivo brewery, Russia

SABMiller is looking to increase its presence in Russia with the acquisition of the Vladpivo brewery. The brewery has an annual capacity of 1million hectoliters (I hectoliter= 100 liters) and the acquisition will cost the company USD 69m. With the acquisition of Vladpivo SABMiller will have three production facilities in the country, the other two being its main brewery in Kaluga and the upcoming brewery in Ulyanovsk. Vladpivo is slated to receive substantial investment aimed at bringing it to the SABMiller’s international manufacturing standards
